The Fine Print

  • Promotional coupons can only be redeemed at our website, http://www.choice.co.nz
  • Promotional coupons can only be applied to the cost of purchases available from this web site
  • Promotional coupons cannot be applied to orders already placed
  • Promotional coupons cannot be applied to GST or handling/freight
  • Promotional coupons require items to a minimum purchase value to be selected before redemption is available
  • The minimum purchase value for your coupon will be noted on the bottom of your shopping basket showing the outstanding coupon.
  • Until you reach the minimum purchase amount in your basket, the coupon will not be available for redemption
  • For any promotional coupon campaign there will be only one coupon available for redemption for each qualifying web account - in the event that there are multiple users of that account, the promotional discount will only be available to the first user who requests the redemption of that coupon
  • Each promotional coupon can be used only once, and must be used in full - there are no partial redemptions allowed
  • No credits are allowed where the purchase amount is less than the amount of the coupon
  • Only one promotional coupon may be used per order
  • If you have more than one promotional coupon outstanding, these will be used on successive purchases, in the order in which they were issued to you
  • Each offer is valid for a limited time only and expires on the date specified for that coupon - this will be noted on the bottom of the shopping basket showing the outstanding coupon.
  • Promotional coupons may not be resold or transferred, and are not redeemable for cash, nor do they have any value, except as a discount for the stated value against qualifying purchases on this site
  • If you return items purchased using a promotional coupon, you will receive a refund net of a proportionate amount of the coupon as calculated by us - the coupon may be reinstated as appropriate at our option
  • Promotional coupons may be issued utilising the information contained in your web profile, web site usage and order history - for more information about privacy, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

Money Back Guarantee

Choice Catering Equipment guarantees the quality of all of our products - you can order from Choice with complete confidence. If for any reason you are not totally satisfied with the goods you receive you may return them. Just return the goods within 7 days of receipt of goods, unused and in their original packaging. Please refer below to our Returns and Credit/Refund Policy for details.

Prices, Specifications and Availability

All prices exclude Goods and Services Tax (GST), and handling and freight. Choice reserves the right to update prices and specifications at any time without notice. We make great efforts to ensure the prices and specifications of our goods are as accurate and as up to date as possible. However the availability can change rapidly. We therefore accept no liability should any of the goods become unavailable.

Handling and Freight

Handling and freight is calculated in addition to the price of the goods, and costs are based on the aggregate order being shipped (unless otherwise stated on the product selected) and the destination to which the goods are being dispatched in New Zealand.

For overseas shipments and some larger items, we will need to quote you on the cost of handling and freight – when you select these items into your shopping basket you will have the option to request a quote from us. For these items you will be contacted to confirm your order, at which time we will process your order and payment.

Returns and Credit/Refund Policy

If you return the goods within 7 days of date of receipt of goods unused and in their original packaging – we will refund or credit the full purchase price, excluding handling and freight.

As the goods will have left us in perfect condition you must ensure that they are still in perfect condition before you sign for them. All claims for goods damaged in transit must be made to the carrier immediately on delivery of the goods to you and you must advise us of this.

Requests for return authorisation are required on all goods returned beyond the 7 day money back period. We reserve the right to decline a refund/credit if the goods are not in original condition or if they are returned outside the 7 day time frame.

All requests for proof of delivery must be received within 7 days of order date. To request a claim or return, call or contact us and we will be happy to help you.

Customer Warranties and Indemnities

The Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (New Zealand) applies only to consumer purchases. If you acquire or hold yourself out as acquiring for the purposes of a business any goods or services to which these Terms and Conditions apply, the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (New Zealand) will not apply to our supply of such goods or services.

In these circumstances the only warranty offered by Choice other than as required by New Zealand law (express or implied, or otherwise) is a 12 month warranty for manufacturing faults and you will indemnify us against any failure by you or your customers to properly contract out of liability to business end consumers under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (New Zealand).

Our total liability to you in relation to any faulty goods or services is limited to the price of those goods or services. We will not, in any case, be liable for any consequential or special damages, including loss of business profits.

It should be noted that warranties applicable in New Zealand do not extend beyond those shores.

Risk and Ownership of the Goods

Risk in the goods will pass to you, the customer, upon delivery to you or to the address specified by you. Pending cleared payment in full of all monies due under this contract or in respect of any other monies owed by you to Choice the goods will remain the sole and absolute property of Choice as legal and equitable owner.

Payment for Purchases

Unless you are a trade business customer of Choice with approved trade credit account use on the website, then payment for goods and services on our website can only be made by direct credit/internet banking through your bank to our bank account or by credit card (we accept American Express, VISA, MasterCard, and Diners).

Your credit card will be charged at the time when you submit your order.

Quote requests will only be charged to your credit card when the quote is confirmed by you.

The ability to select the direct credit option through the web site is only available to customers requesting shipment of goods to a New Zealand delivery address at this time.

International customers who wish to pay by direct credit should request this option when you are contacted by us with freight charges for your shipment.

Please refer to the direct credit instructions in your confirmation email for your order to ensure that accurate details of our bank account and the accompanying information are supplied to your bank.

Please note that shipment cannot be done before Choice receives the direct credit of the total amount of the order.

Choice takes no responsibility for direct credits that do not reach our bank account - in the event that your direct credit is directed to a bank account other than Choice, please contact your own bank to resolve this issue.

We will send you a reminder email if we do not receive your direct credit after five working days.  We will also confirm by email when we receive your direct credit and your order is being shipped.

Order Fulfilment

Choice will endeavour to fill and dispatch all orders received via the secure site by the end of the next business day after receipt of the order, except where the product ordered is not available, in which case you will be notified and will have the option to cancel, vary the order or wait for the product to become available.

You may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you. We have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be.

Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. Additionally, when ordering from our store, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.

Foreign Currency Conversion

Display of prices in foreign currencies may be selected by you as an option in your profile. However, all invoices will be billed in New Zealand dollars to your credit card provider when you check out and pay for your shopping basket.

Conversion rates will be updated periodically from the New Zealand based banking sources. These rates are only intended as an indication of the eventual conversion rate. As such, they may only approximate what is actually billed by your credit card provider at the exchange rates used by them at the time of the transaction.

Web Site Operating Terms and Conditions

Login and Password

You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under the login and password established by you. You agree to immediately notify us of any unauthorised use of your login, password or account, or any other breach of security. Choice will not be responsible for any damages that may result from loss, theft or misuse of any user login and password.

Account Control

Account Control allows the creation of multiple accounts under an existing log-in, and the appointment of multiple Members of an account by the Owner.

Please note these responsibilities for account operation where multiple Members are appointed by an Owner:

  1. Responsibility for overall account operation rests with the Owner,
  2. Overall purchasing and web activity of Members on the account is the responsibility of the Owner to manage,
  3. Members' status and access is the responsibility of the Owner to manage as circumstances change,
  4. Usage of credit cards is the responsibility of the card owner - any access granted to a Member to utilise a common business card is the responsibility of the person who granted that access,
  5. Each card owner is responsible for the transactions charged to their credit card.  The normal credit authorisation procedures for credit card companies will apply to Members' use of credit cards.

Trade Customer Login, Password and Orders

Secure ordering on this site is provided for Choice’s trade customers, in addition to the general public services. This gives trade customers specific pricing and account information, including the ability to prepare and transmit orders online. Orders placed using the secure site are legal offers to purchase. In particular Choice is entitled to accept orders received from the website using a trade customer's login and passwords without further reference to the trade customer. Choice's agreed terms of trade for the trade customer will apply to orders received from the website.

The trade customers’ access to the secure site is controlled by a login and password held and controlled by the trade customer itself. Each trade customer is solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of access of its account with Choice through proper and prudent management of the login and password.

In the event that the Owner of the account appoints Members to have access to the account, the Owner acknowledges that Choice's agreed terms of trade for the trade customer will apply to all orders placed by those Members.

As an additional form of security, none of a trade customer’s account details may be changed online, except the login and password. Any changes to other details must be through direct contact with a representative of Choice, subject to appropriate verification and approval procedures. Please email requests for changes by contacting us.

Choice goes to considerable effort to ensure that each trade customer's account information, accessible through the websites, is accurate and reliable. In the unlikely event of any discrepancy between your records and Choice's website records, please advise us.

Information supplied to Choice using the website will be used to fulfil and administer customers' orders, customise the content and/or layout of the website for individual customers, operate and administer their accounts with Choice, and to promote Choice products and services by communicating with you.

If you do not want to receive communications from us in the future, please let us know by contacting us, calling or writing and telling us that you do not want to receive communications from our company, providing us with your full details. Refer to our detailed Privacy Policy below.
